The French Liver Biobank Network brings together expert centers in the field of liver tumors to support projects dedicated to improving knowledge of liver pathologies and their diagnosis, and to developing innovative treatments.

The French Liver Biobank Network is led by a multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians specialized in the study and management of liver tumors. It brings together cell and molecular biologists, geneticists, hepatologists, surgeons, pathologists and epidemiologists who work with both medical data and biological samples.

Emphasis is placed on the quality and relevance of the information and biological samples collected. Data is recorded in a structured and standardized manner, and monitoring visits are regularly carried out at each center. Additional data can be collected to meet the specific needs of project leaders.

The quality of biological samples is ensured by the network’s biobanks, all certified to the ISO 20387 standard. Each request to access the biological resources and associated data is reviewed by the Executive Board, which assesses its feasibility. After evaluation, the most suitable samples are selected from the national collection.

Requests are submitted through a dedicated form available in the ‘Download’ section and sent to the network’s project manager, whose contact details are listed in the ‘Contact’ section.

The liver biobanks network develops a strong policy for assurance-quality-traceability. It was certified on August 24, 2011 according to the NFS 96-900 AFNOR standards, with renewals since 2014.
